Fundraiser
Year-Round Fundraiser I have helped the local chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) organization for the past 12 years. It's been mostly through my employment and as a community member. Now, I feel it's time to help as an author. With the sale of each book in the Journey of Twins Series - After, Stolen, Vengence (coming 2008), and any other book I have written, I will donate $2 to JDRF. The sales can come from any place where they are sold. Check under the books tab to learn where you can obtain a copy. Due to its graphic content, the Nature Kranderson book is intended for a mature audience only. With your help, we can make the end of juvenile (Type 1) diabetes a reality instead of a dream. Thanks, Janet Durbin ----------------------------------------------------------- About JDRF: JDRF was founded in 1970 by the parents of children with juvenile diabetes - a disease that strikes children suddenly, makes them insulin dependent for life, and carries the constant threat of devastating complications. Since inception, JDRF has provided more than $1 billion to diabetes research worldwide. More than 80 percent of JDRF's expenditures directly support research and education about research. JDRF's mission is constant: to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. For more information, visit the JDRF web site at http://www.jdrf.org.

2009 Ride to Cure Diabetes My personal fundraising goal $4000 I have included a graph so you can keep track of my fundraising efforts. If you would like to help me reach my target amount, simply purchase a book. I'll include on a later date how to donate without purchasing a book for those wishing to do so, so please check back. Whether you purchase a book or not, I thank you for your support. It means a lot to me and the kids with Type 1 diabetes. Janet

The 2008 Walk to Cure Diabetes event was a huge success. Thousands of walkers showed up to give their support in finding a cure for Type 1 diabetes, and so did I. walkers as they overtook the beach. An ocean of colorful shirts extended for miles, making the already beautiful scenery even more so. Especially since the splash of reds, blues, greens, yellows, blacks and whites were there to accomplish a mission, a mission to stamp out diabetes. Click here to take a peek. I think you'll agree, the view was breathtaking. ------------------------ My mission for 2009 will be to do something I've wanted to do for a very long time. I'm going to do a bike ride for diabetes. I thought to do the one in California, but I may have to adjust my plans. We'll see. 2009 is still a long way away. To help me reach my goal of $4000, send your donations to the address below. Make sure to put my name on your donations information and that it is for the Bike for a Cure event. By doing this, you'll not only be helping me lose LOTS of extra flab, but also helping a person with Type 1 diabetes reach a better life...by finding a cure.
